Privacy Notice

Last updated August 2026

This notice describes what personal data Vichith collects when you use vichith.in, why, who it's shared with, and the rights you have over it. It's written to describe what the product actually does today, not generic language — if a feature changes how your data is handled, this notice will be updated to match.

1. Who we are

Vichith Inc. ("Vichith," "we," "us") operates vichith.in, an AI-assisted video and creative platform. For any privacy question, correction, deletion request, or complaint, contact privacy@vichith.in.

2. What we collect, and why

Everything below is data we actually collect through normal use of the product — not a hypothetical list.

  • Account information — email address and, if you sign up with a password, a securely hashed (never plaintext) password. Used to create and secure your account.
  • Projects — titles, descriptions, and organizational metadata for the creative projects you make. Used to store and organize your work.
  • Chithra conversations — the messages you send to Chithra (Vichith's AI assistant) and its replies. This can include whatever you choose to type, including personal details you mention in passing. Used to hold a working conversation and to give Chithra memory of your project across sessions.
  • Character and reference data — descriptions, traits, and reference images you build up for characters or visual references within a project. Used to keep generated content consistent across a project.
  • Uploaded video and audio — if you use Caption Studio, the video file you upload, and the audio extracted from it. Used to generate captions for that video.
  • Generated content — the images, video, and audio Vichith creates for you, and the prompts/instructions that produced them. Used to deliver the feature you asked for and to keep a record of your own creative history.
  • Credits and payment records — your credit balance and transaction history (what was purchased or spent, when). We do not collect or store your card, UPI, or bank details — see §7.
  • Basic usage and error logs — which features you use and technical error data, tied to your account where you're signed in. Used to keep the product working and to diagnose problems.

3. AI processing — where your data actually goes

Generating anything on Vichith means sending some of the data above to an AI provider to do the actual generation. We use several, and which one handles a given request depends on the feature and your plan:

  • Sarvam AI (India) — the default provider for Chithra conversations, Caption Studio transcription, text-to-speech narration, and translation. Most of your day-to-day use stays here.
  • Google, Anthropic, ByteDance, and Zhipu — depending on your plan and which model you choose for image/video generation or advanced reasoning, your prompt and any reference images may be sent to one of these providers instead. Some of these are based outside India.
  • Razorpay (India) — handles payment processing. See §7.

None of these providers receive more than what's needed to fulfill your specific request. We do not use your uploaded content, conversations, or generated output to train our own models. We have not independently verified whether any of these providers use API inputs to improve their own models under their own separate terms — if that matters to you, we'd encourage checking the relevant provider's own policy directly, and we're working on confirming this for each one.

4. Your uploads

If you upload a video (for example, to Caption Studio), that file — and anyone or anything shown or heard in it — is personal data if it depicts a real person, including you. Only upload content you have the right to upload. Uploaded video is stored in private cloud storage, accessible only via short-lived, authenticated links generated when you or Vichith's systems need to read it — not a permanently public URL.

5. Storage and security

Your data is stored with Supabase (our database and file storage provider). Access to your projects, conversations, and files is scoped to your account. Generated and uploaded files live in private storage; nothing is served from a permanently public link.

6. How long we keep it

Most of the data described in §2 is kept for as long as your account and projects exist — there isn't yet a fixed automatic deletion timeline for most categories. What you can do today: delete an individual generated or uploaded asset, or delete an entire project (both remove the underlying files as well as the record), any time, from Data Controls in Settings. We're working toward more granular, automatic retention limits.

7. Payments

Credit purchases are processed by Razorpay. Your card, UPI, or bank details go directly to Razorpay's own secure checkout — Vichith's servers never receive or store them. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and how many credits to add.

8. Cookies

We use only the session cookies needed to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don't run third-party analytics on vichith.in today.

9. Your rights

You can, right now, from Data Controls in Settings:

  • See a summary of what Vichith holds on your account.
  • Delete an individual generated or uploaded asset.
  • Delete an entire project, including its files.
  • Request deletion of your whole account — this currently goes to our team as a request rather than happening instantly, and we'll confirm with you once it's done.

You can also ask us to correct inaccurate account information, or withdraw consent for a specific use of your data, by writing to privacy@vichith.in. If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to India's Data Protection Board once it's operational for these purposes.

10. Children

Vichith is intended for users 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

11. Changes to this notice

If we materially change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
